Legal Research

AI legal research, grounded in the record.

Ask a legal question in plain English. Azimuth Check searches court opinions, statutes and federal regulations, then answers with citations to the actual sources — built for attorneys, law enforcement and anyone who needs the law, not a guess.

Real court opinions

Searches federal and state case law through CourtListener, with jurisdiction filters and Supreme Court and landmark decisions prioritized.

Statutes and the US Code

Pulls section-level federal and state statutes from Justia and official state sources, plus the US Code.

Federal regulations

Searches the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR) for the rules agencies actually enforce.

Bluebook citations

Generate a Bluebook-style citation for a case, statute or regulation from the record's details. Missing reporter details are flagged, never invented.

Follow-up questions

Keep asking about the same authorities in a follow-up chat, and get alerts by email when new rulings match your topic.

Cited, checkable answers

Every claim links to the opinion or code section it came from, so you can read the source before you rely on it.

How to use it

  1. Choose Research in the search bar, then Legal Research.
  2. Pick a jurisdiction and ask your question, for example "Can police stop a car whose owner has a suspended license?"
  3. Read the answer, open the cited opinions and code sections, and copy Bluebook citations.

Legal Research is included with Premium ($8.99/month).

Legal Research is a research aid, not legal advice. Always read the full source and confirm it is still good law before relying on it. Court data can be limited during busy periods.
