Privacy Notice

Last updated October 13, 2026

This notice explains how Azimuth Check ("we", "us") handles personal data. Azimuth Check is the data controller for personal data processed through the service, meaning we decide why and how it is used.

Data we collect and why

  • Account data (email, name, login credentials or Google sign-in identifier) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract.
  • Searches, AI prompts and saved answers, history, favorites and preferences — to provide the service and the features you use. Legal basis: contract.
  • Usage records (counts of searches and AI answers, model used, token counts) — to enforce plan limits and control costs. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
  • IP address — for signed-out visitors, stored only as a salted one-way hash to apply guest limits and prevent abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Subscription status (plan, renewal dates) received from Paddle — to grant Premium access. Legal basis: contract.
  • Support messages — to respond to you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share data with

  • Service providers: hosting and database infrastructure; search providers (Brave Search, Tavily) which receive your search queries; AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, via our AI gateway) which receive your prompts and retrieved sources.
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling Premium, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
  • Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

Retention

We keep account data and saved content until you delete it or your account. Usage records are kept as long as needed for limits, billing and abuse prevention. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised. Deleting your account from the account page removes your saved data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We respond to requests within one month. Contact support@azimuthcheck.app.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit each user to their own records, and keeping provider API keys on our servers only.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential storage: sign-in session data, your theme choice, and (for signed-out visitors) recent searches kept in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings at any time.
